This variety (Bambusa textilis var. gracilis) is a smaller version of another popular bamboo, Weaver’s Bamboo. This fast-growing plant can reach its maximum height of 25-30 feet in as little as three years, and has a tidy upright look perfect for privacy hedges. The culms can also be used for weaving. The natural footprint of this variety is about 3 feet in diameter. Because of its tight footprint, upright culms and medium size, we have found this to be one of the most popular varieties for our clients looking for privacy screens.
This variety is currently only available in 7-gallon pots.
Please note plants cannot be delivered off-island at this time. Plants are available for free pickup in Waialua on the North Shore of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi.
